Critique by Lazarus Chernik, Creative Director for Echo-X:
It's fun and enticing. The line quality is expressive and enjoyable. The figure drawing is pretty good with a dramatic and elegant twist. I think her right arm (the arm on the left) is a little muscular and thick compared to her left arm. Part of that has to do with the sleeve's texture and color and part of that has to do with size. Perspective would make the background arm smaller/thinner than the foreground by a hair - but it's actually bigger. The foreground breast should also be more clear.
The palette is lovely but the level of rendering is uneven. The polish of the butt cheeks and the glint on her hair create a distracting depth because the rest of the figure isn't as carefully controlled. The hair texture is weak and the leaves are just improperly shaded. They are colored - but need attention to their own highlights and shadows. Those shadows would solve the structure problem of the breast and the butt.
The extremely bright object behind her isn't well done - sorry. It's so bright that is obscures the the figure and makes it actually painful to look at. I need sunglasses. More importantly, the light would completely change the figure's shading. She would be backlit and have streaks of light outlining her form. Shadows would be in the foreground. Unfortunately, the background liught source is so blistering that to make it come out right, you would end up making the figure so dark that the important details could end up illegible if handled incorrectly.
If you go back into her, I'd love to see where it goes.
Sounds good my friend. I have some interesting ideas about that one I want to share with you. I almost finished writing the story for that one too. Thanks..
OMG MaKu, I just noticed this piece. She is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. I love all the colors. The green vines and leaves really stand out and grab my attention. Not to mention the girl.
